Wreck and Rescue on the Manx Coast

John Kelly will give a presentation entitled,  ‘Wreck and Rescue on the Manx Coast’ which ties in well with the 200 anniversary of the RNLI.

The talk will cover a selection of wrecks, lifeboats, the rocket brigade, lighthouses, lightship’s and Sir William Hillary.

All welcome, 7.30pm at Peel Centenary Centre, Wednesday September 18th. 

The monochrome image shows the Steam Packet Company vessel Mona’s Isle ashore at Scarlett in 1892. The colour painting shows the vessel St. George wrecked on Conister Rock in Douglas Bay in 1830 with the Douglas lifeboat carrying out the rescue.
